Blue Bahia Granite, also known as Azul Bahia Granite, is a highly prized natural stone quarried from the Bahia province in Brazil.
- カラー: It is most famous for its stunning blue shades, ranging from a deep ocean – like blue to lighter sky blue, and sometimes darker navy blue. The base color is often accentuated with white or gold veins, creating a sense of movement and depth. There may also be small golden – brown specks or, in some cases, white and light green patterns, though high – quality slabs may have fewer or no such additional patterns.
- Texture and Finish: It can have various finishes, including polished, flamed, bush hammered, tumbled, brushed, honed, split, machine cut, natural surface, sandblasted, acid washing, combed, leathered, water jet, filled, chiseled, and pickling. The polished finish is popular as it enhances the vibrancy of the blue color and the clarity of the veining patterns.
- 吸水: It has a water absorption rate of 0.04%, indicating relatively low porosity.
- Density: The density is 2550 kg/m³.
- Strength: It has a flexural strength of 16.60 mpa and a compressive strength of 169.20 mpa, which means it is relatively durable and able to withstand significant pressure.
- Interior Design: Widely used for kitchen countertops, bathroom vanities, backsplashes, and accent walls. Its unique color and pattern make it a statement piece, and it pairs well with various materials like light and dark wood cabinetry, stainless steel, and glass. It can also be used for dining table tops, coffee table tops, window sills, and furniture pieces such as sideboards.
- Exterior and Landscaping: Suitable for exterior wall and floor applications, including walkways, patios, garden pathways, driveways, pool copings, and pool pavers. Its durability and resistance to weathering make it practical for outdoor use. It can also be used in sculptures, fireplaces, and monuments.
Considered a rare and exotic stone due to its unique coloration and the limited number of quarries where it is found. This scarcity, along with its high aesthetic appeal, makes it a relatively expensive stone, often used in high – end residential and commercial projects.
Like all natural stones, it requires proper sealing to protect it from potential staining or damage. Regular cleaning and care are essential to maintain its beauty over the long term.
